The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce that alumnus Chuck Henson will be the show announcer for the 60th Anniversary of “Drums On Parade” to be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 22nd in Middleton, WI.
“I am excited that Chuck will be our show announcer for this historic event,” stated Scouts’ Executive Director Chris Komnick. “I marched with Chuck in 1984 and have been friends with him since. It’s an honor to have him bring his voice talent to our annual home show.”
Chuck is the Real Time Traffic & Transportation Reporter for Bay News 9 as part of “Your Morning News”. He is also the national “Voice” of Bands of America/Music for All, Inc, celebrating 24 years as the organization’s Public Address Announcer. Chuck is a proud 2012 Inductee into the Bands of America Hall of Fame in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Chuck’s love for music and music education is prevalent in everything he does. He has emceed the annual Chicagoland Showcase (think, real-life’s GLEE) for the past 17 years. As a product of his high school band/choral program and an alumnus of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, Chuck works hard to promote and enhance the growth of music education.
“Chuck has been an incredible supporter of the Scouts and has been a key player in our Color Guard Fellowship,” stated Komnick. “He’s a great success story for our organization and I look forward to when he announces the Scouts onto the field that evening!”
“Drums On Parade” is celebrating it’s 60th anniversay and is the oldest continuing running show in the activity. This year’s lineup include the Madison Scouts, Bluecoats, Blue Stars, Spirit of Atlanta, Glassmen, Troopers, Pioneer, Colt Cadets and Racine Scouts.
