Mike is the owner of Anello Medical Writing Services, a healthcare communications agency that provides comprehensive services for the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and business solutions industry. He holds a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from UW - Madison and a bachelor's degree in political science from Marquette University.

Mike's family has been involved in the drum corps activity since the 1960's - in groups such as the Kilties, Mariners, and St. Matthias Cadets. Mike marched in the rifle line of 8 color guards, beginning with the 1978 Racine Kilties and finishing with the 1982, 1983 Madison Scouts. He was also a member of the cymbal line in the 2006 Alumni Reunion Project.

For the past five years, Mike has also been the director of the Madison Scouts Alumni ALS Benefit, "Rocking for a Cure." Mike lives with his wife April in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
