Carmen Gets Her Man
A special congratulations to alumnus and current instructor Jon Newcomb and former Madison Scouts’ guest performer Rebecca Hershman (‘05) on their recent engagement. Many may remember Rebecca as Carmen from the 2005 production of the Carmen Project.The special moment came at the end of the February camp when the corps surrounded the couple to sing May You Never Walk Alone. Jon exhibited great courage and dropped to one knee for the proposal. A great sigh of relief was heard when she accepted.
Jon marched 4 seasons in the corps from 2000 - 2003 and served as the drum major during the 2003 season. He has since been a visual instructor for the Scouts and Blue Stars and is currently on the Scouts visual staff for the 2008 season. Jon is an EMT and fireman for the Oregon Fire Department in Oregon, WI.
