To Fellow Alums, Members, Boosters, Friends and Fans:

On August 30th, the Executive Committee met with Jeff Spanos to review his job performance during his first year as executive director of the Madison Scouts these past 12 months. During the two hour meeting we had in-depth discussions on a variety of topics directly associated with his role and responsibilities. The discussion was open and candid. In addition we discussed expectations for the future.

It is the opinion of the Executive Committee that Jeff has done an outstanding job as executive director of the Madison Scouts, especially considering the condition of the organization when he took office. His management style of fostering an inclusive work environment has energized the alumni and parents in terms of volunteerism as well as establishing a healthy working relationship with his staff. He has been honest and forthright in his work with the Board of Directors and has embraced their input and advice.  Jeff is an honorable, hard working individual who has a deep love for this organization and the values it bestows on its members, staff, and fans.

On September 5th, the Executive Committee recommended that the Board of Directors renew Jeff's contract for the 2008 season, effective immediately. The Board passed the recommendation unanimously. Jeff accepted the renewal graciously.
