Connie Ferris Bailey has been volunteering with the Madison Scouts for over 40 years.  Her brothers, Bill and Jon Schrack (corps members in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s), inspired her to get involved with the corps and since 2004 she has served on the board of directors.

Ferris Bailey has an extensive leadership background with non-profit organizations.  Since 1979, she has been the executive director of Operation Fresh Start, a nationally-recognized program which effectively assists challenged juveniles and adults become self-sufficient, contributing members of society.

Ferris Bailey’s current and past community service includes work for the City of Madison, Dane County, the Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance and the President’s Summit on America’s Future.

In 2000, Connie received the National Governor’s Association Award for Distinguished Service to State Government.  She was designated a Woman of Distinction by the Madison YWCA in 2005.
